About Me

I am a person-centred counsellor dedicated to helping professional parents who may be experiencing stress or anxiety for a variety of reasons either personally or professionally.

I have worked with numerous parents in my private practice dealing with a wide range of issues, and empathising with all aspects of parenthood, from the difficulties relating to fertility and conception, to the journey parenthood can take us on and all the ups and downs in-between.

In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and children, enjoying days out and walks with our dog.

Approach

As a person-centred counsellor, it is my belief that individuals are at the centre of their experiences and it is only them who truly knows how this was experienced. I can help the individual to understand their experiences and their feelings towards their experiences essentially helping them to reconnect with their inner values and self-worth.

I also integrate my knowledge and skills from other approaches to make sure I can tailor the counselling to the individual’s specific needs.

Experience

I am a fully qualified person-centred counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) who offers a professional, safe, confidential, non-judgemental and friendly counselling service.

My undergraduate degree (BSc) is in Psychology gained at Bangor University of Wales where I also gained my Masters (MSc) in Psychological Research.

I have experience of offering counselling to adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse and have previously worked with ChildLine counselling children and young people. My previous roles have also given me experience of working in a wide variety of settings with people with a broad range of issues such as self-harm, bereavement, depression, trauma, self-esteem issues, sexuality, relationships, family and children, work related issues and many more, which have included me working with older people, people with severe mental health disorders, people with disabilities and people with hoarding disorder.
